STUDENT LEADERSHIP
Student Council
Student leadership is alive and thriving at Saint Paschal Baylon School! Our Student Council plays an important role in shaping school culture, building community, and giving students a meaningful voice in campus life.
Each year, sixteen Student Council officers are elected by students in grades 3–7. Working closely with a faculty moderator, these student leaders help plan and lead school assemblies, Spirit Days, Intramural activities, fundraisers, and special events throughout the year. Through hands-on leadership opportunities, students learn responsibility, collaboration, and confident communication.
Student Council officers are easily recognized on meeting days and special occasions by their light blue SPBS Student Council polo shirts, worn in place of the standard uniform shirt. This privilege reflects the responsibility and trust placed in these elected leaders.
In addition to officers, each class elects two Senators who represent their peers at monthly Class Senator Meetings. Senators share ideas, voice student concerns, and help ensure that every grade level is represented in schoolwide planning and decisions.
Student Council members coordinate and staff the Bear Cave (student store) and organize both fundraisers and “fun-raisers” that bring our community together. Popular events include:
Monthly recess food sales
Spirit Days
Powder Puff Turkey Bowl
Halloween Pumpkin Decorating Contest
Gingerbread Decorating Contest
Catholic Schools Week Cake Walk
Football Toss Contest
Beyond school events, Student Council helps lead faith-based and community initiatives, including Red Ribbon Week, daily Rosary leadership during the Month of the Rosary, and hosting a Veterans Day Assembly. They also proudly support SPBS athletic teams through pep rallies and school-spirit celebrations.
The mission of the SPBS Student Council is to foster school pride while developing servant leaders who lead with integrity, stewardship, and compassion. Through these experiences, students gain confidence, leadership skills, and a deep sense of responsibility to their school community.
