Kindergarten at Saint Paschal Baylon School

Kindergarten is the joyful first step in your child’s Catholic education at Saint Paschal Baylon School (SPBS). In a warm and faith-filled environment, children come to know Jesus as their friend and learn about God’s love through daily religion lessons, prayer, and weekly school Mass. Our Kindergarten students also prepare one Mass each year and are paired with Sixth Grade “Big Buddies” who help them feel welcomed and confident from the start.

Faith and Friendship

At SPBS, learning is joyful and purposeful. Our credentialed Kindergarten teacher, with a Master’s Degree in Education and more than 25 years of experience at SPBS, is supported by a full-time classroom aide who provides individualized attention and care for every student.

Academics and Exploration

The full-day program runs from 8:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. and blends strong academics with creativity and exploration. Using interactive programs like Starfall for English Language Arts and Math, supported by iPads and SmartBoard technology, students build early reading, math, and problem-solving skills.

Weekly enrichment classes in Art, Music, Spanish, Library, Technology, and Physical Education make each day dynamic and engaging.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Field trips to local destinations such as the pumpkin patch, Moorpark College Teaching Zoo, Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, and Public Works Department bring learning to life beyond the classroom.

Whole Child Development

SPBS Kindergarten nurtures the whole child in mind, heart, and spirit—helping students grow in faith, friendship, and confidence while building a strong foundation for future success.
