Sixth Grade

The
highlight of Sixth Grade at Saint Paschal Baylon School is
going to Outdoor School at Rancho
Alegre. It consists of
a wonderful week in the mountains above Santa Barbara with
three other Catholic schools! While we are there, we learn
about Earth Science in a fun and hands-on way.
In our hiking groups we learn about plants, animals, geology, and the Chumash Indians. We also hike at night without flashlights and even go on a “Trust Walk”. Most of our class goes on the nine-mile ridge hike, and we are always very proud of them!
Outdoor School is one of the best parts of Sixth Grade at St. Paschal’s.
In Sixth Grade we also begin our SPBS Junior High departmentalized program. Students who qualify are provided Accelerated classes in Literature and Math. To help reinforce our art appreciation and social studies curriculum, the class visits the newly renovated Getty Villa in Pacific Palisades.
This is the year we are assigned our first lockers, and we are able to participate in the Junior High retreat program. It is great to finally be a part of our Junior High here at Saint Paschal Baylon School!
